We received over 500 nominations across 13 categories and these are your shortlisted businesses for Hospitality Venue of the Year.

This award celebrates a restaurant, food-led venue or hospitality business that provides excellent food, service and atmosphere.

The Shortlist

Amore Restaurant

Amore Italian Restaurant & Cafe was praised for its excellent Italian food, lovely setting and consistently warm welcome. Nominations highlighted Francesco’s culinary skills and a team that is clearly passionate about both its food and the experience it provides.

Judges recognised the venue’s strong family run values and the way its food, service and atmosphere come together to create somewhere that has been trading in the town for over a decade.

Breeze Bowls

Breeze Bowls combines high quality food and drinks with friendly service and a bright, upbeat atmosphere. Nominations described an independent business that goes the extra mile for its customers and has created a genuinely welcoming place to visit.

Judges also valued the team’s positive involvement in the local community and the energy and personality the new business brings to Newcastle-under-Lyme’s hospitality offer.

Fresco 

Fresco was praised for its food, particularly friendly service and the welcoming experience created by its family run team. The venue also caters for occasions and other events, giving customers a flexible setting for both everyday visits and special occasions.

Judges recognised Fresco as a strong addition to Merrial Street and a hospitality business encouraging more people to discover and visit this part of the town.

Mellards

Mellards Bar offers a distinctive hospitality experience within one of Newcastle-under-Lyme’s historic buildings. Customers value its food and drinks offer, including its pizzas and regularly changing selection of beers, ciders, ales and spirits, alongside friendly and helpful service.

Judges also recognised its relaxed but lively atmosphere and the strong sense of community that has made it a firm favourite with many local customers.

The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse Stoke brings food, drinks and entertainment together in a venue designed for a wide range of occasions. Nominations highlighted its activities for different ages and its popularity for family outings, birthdays and work celebrations.

Judges particularly recognised its welcoming team, good facilities and affordable offers, creating an enjoyable and accessible experience for groups of different ages.
