Anasma Greek Bakery
Anasma Greek Bakery brings an authentic taste of Greece to Newcastle-under-Lyme, with nominations praising its freshly prepared food, quality ingredients and welcoming atmosphere. Customers particularly highlighted its freddo espresso, pies, cakes and breakfasts, alongside friendly service and good value.
Judges recognised the bakery’s distinctive offer and the warmth of its team, which has helped turn first-time visitors into loyal regulars.
Boba Trent
Boba Trent was praised for its creative and beautifully presented drinks, with customers describing them as “actual art” and highlighting the impressive range available. Zsuzsanna’s friendly, personal service was also central to the nominations, helping make each visit feel welcoming and enjoyable.
Judges recognised the creativity, individuality and personality Boba Trent brings as a new business to Newcastle-under-Lyme’s café and drinks offer.
Cafe Java
Café Java was praised for its excellent selection of coffee, food and cakes, as well as the warm and friendly service provided by Liza.
Judges recognised the hard work involved in running the café single-handedly while continuing to provide an efficient and welcoming experience. Customers also value its friendly atmosphere and its place on Ironmarket as a café they enjoy returning to.
No21 Cafe & Sandwich Bar
No. 21 Cafe and Sandwich Bar was praised for its breakfasts, varied menu, good value and consistently welcoming service. Customers highlighted Sharon and her daughter Amy’s friendly approach, attention to cleanliness and willingness to adapt orders or accommodate individual requests.
Judges particularly recognised Sharon’s determination to keep the business moving forward through difficult trading conditions while continuing to create a positive and dependable experience for customers.
Piccoloco
Piccoloco combines speciality coffee and quality food with knowledgeable staff who are genuinely passionate about what they serve. Nominations praised its coffee, pastries, matcha and brunch offer, alongside the warm and relaxed atmosphere across its Hassell Street and Keele in Town locations.
Judges also recognised the independent father-and-son business’s investment in local employment, support for an apprentice and distinctive touches including in-house roasting and public coffee tasting events.
